TESTIMONIALS
“This was an estate sale which resulted in my husband and I having to move.
Laura was very respectful of our situation and I felt no pressure.”
Judith Ferguson – Wiarton
Situated on the shores of beautiful Georgian Bay, Lion’s Head is halfway between Tobermory and Wiarton on the famous Bruce Peninsula.
Lion’s Head is a little town featuring crystal clear waterways, hiking, and safe shallow beaches.
A popular attraction all along the Bruce Peninsula is the Bruce Trail, Canada’s longest marked footpath, running 900 km along the Niagara Escarpment from its starting point at Niagara Falls to its end at Tobermory.
You can enjoy the view of Georgian Bay from the Lion’s Head Lighthouse at the harbour or take the family camping at nearby Lion’s Head Provincial Park.
A very special attraction in town is Bayside Astronomy’s free public program about constellations, planets, the moon, and other deep-sky objects, with sky viewing in real-time through telescopes. Happening every Friday and Saturday night from Canada Day to Labour Day at the marina in Lion’s Head at sunset, the program begins with a short star talk and is followed by viewing of the night sky through volunteer telescopes. For more info, check out Bayside’s Facebook page.
Open from May to Canadian Thanksgiving, Greig’s Caves offers ten limestone caves and rugged trails that can be hiked in about a hour or two. You will need a flashlight for some parts of the caves, and because of steep inclines and rocky terrain, the hike requires physical agility and balance, and all hikers must sign a waiver before entering.
Two of Canada’s national parks are just north of Lion’s Head, near Tobermory. You can hike the trails and explore the Grotto at Bruce Peninsula National Park, and discover shipwrecks and the famous sea-stack rock formations on Flowerpot Island at Fathom Five National Marine Park. There are also many 19th-century lighthouses in the area, including Big Tub Lighthouse. Kids will love the ropes course at Little Cove Adventures Aerial Park, and you can stay in one of their on-site cabins at night!
